Anthony Gray

Anthony Gray is an organist, accompanist, conductor and composer based in Yorkshire. He is Director of Music of St. Wilfrid’s Church Harrogate, Conductor and Artistic Director of Halifax Choral Society, and an examiner for the ABRSM. 

He graduated as Organ Scholar of Robinson College Cambridge in 2018, where he was also Organist for St. John’s Voices. He has held positions at a number of cathedrals, most recently spending 18 months as Assistant Director of Music at Bradford Cathedral.

He has conducted a number of major works and has been Musical Director of acclaimed theatre productions including the Duchess of Malfi, Joseph and his own co-authored A Very Brexit Musical at the Edinburgh Fringe.

He was a finalist in the BBC Radio 3 Carol Competiiton 2019 with his setting of Go To The Child, and was winner of the 2022 Harold Smart Memorial Composition Competition.

Recent commissions have included choral music for Leeds Cathedral and Vocalis Chamber Choir alongside a major organ cycle for organist Simon Hogan.
